Planning and setting up for the Big Day can be stressful and time-consuming. Hiring someone is ideal, but if that is not in the budget, having friends and family helping is a great idea. Where it can go wrong is giving one person too many tasks. Remember these people may have offered to help, but they also want to be able to enjoy your wedding with you. Too many tasks on their plate may result in things falling through the cracks or not turning out how you had designed them. If people are lining up to help give them one or two tasks, so they can easily execute them and enjoy the day. Also, make sure you explain exactly how and what you want them to do a week or two ahead of time. You will not have time or want to be bothered holding someone's hand through all these tasks the day of. If people are not lining up to help, and you still want to be budget-conscious, hire a day of coordinator. They will take all the planning you have done and execute it and let you just relax.
